The Backstory


This game was created in one week for the Building Virtual Worlds class. They call it the BVW Lightning Round. We had our choice of platform (head mounted display, playmotion, and others) so we chose to work with the Jam-O-Drum.

One of our first ideas was a Speed-Racer-inspired demolition derby where cars were pushing around a tire rim. Luckily, that got shot down at our interim presentation.

After a few iterations we realized that we needed to keep it simple and just make a fun game. So we did that.

When we playtested the game, people enjoyed the simple game mechanic. Eventually, players strategically bumped their opponents out of the way or their teammates closer to the puck.
